British Orienteering Roadshow in Reading - Wednesday 13th October

As part of a series of roadshows, British Orienteering will be visiting Reading on Wednesday 13th October - the roadshow is open to any full member and this is the closest of the series to BKO. Roadshows will cover the Competition Review, the 4 tier event structure, plans for the future development programme and much more.

BKO announces a new Youth League for the forthcoming 2010-11 season

BKO is pleased to announce that we are starting a new Youth League, to start in September and to continue throughout this and future seasons.

BKO make history on the Dorset Coast Path Relay!

History was made on Saturday September 4th, when a highly-motivated and extremely efficient BKO team managed to beat a strong SOC team in the Dorset Coast Path Relay. Our winning margin was just 30 seconds after a relay of 100 kms lasting almost nine-and-a-half hours! At last we reaped a reward from our third year of entry into this unique event.

Some Very Sad News

We regret to announce that, while running in the Sprint Race at Bicton College on the first day of the Jan Kjellstrom Orienteering Festival on Good Friday 2nd April 2010, one of our members, Dave Stubbs, collapsed and died.  Dave had orienteered for many years and was both an active competitor, organiser and event controller.  I'm sure we all will wish to join in sending condolences t

Friday 26th February - Club AGM and Annual Dinner

As announced in the January newsletter, our club’s AGM and Annual Dinner will be taking place at Hurst Village Hall, in the village of Hurst between Reading and Wokingham.  The AGM provides club members a chance to review the past year and consider details of the club’s finances.
