  • Clubmark renewed

    Our Clubmark accreditation has been renewed for another four years. If you haven't been involved, Clubmark (see here) is the national standard for good practice for sports clubs with junior sections and involvement. With our Schools League, links with local schools and our regular club night, we are very well placed to continue this good work.

  • BKO on the TV

    At the recent Concorde Chase, you may remember Sky TV News walking around, filming and doing interviews.

    This has now been incorporated into a report on orienteering and other minority sports, which was shown on Sky News on Saturday 11th February.

  • BKO Annual General Meeting and Club Dinner - Friday 24th February 2012

    The Annual General Meeting of Berkshire Orienteers will be held at 7.00pm on Friday 24th February 2012 at The Bull At Theale, 41 High Street, Theale, Berkshire RG7 5AH.

  • 2012 Club Nights restarting 11th January.

    A reminder to everybody that club nights will be restarting on 11th January. 

    Club nights will now run from 7.00pm until 8.30 pm. Tea and coffee are also now provided, along with biscuits, if we're lucky!

  • BOF Controller Grade C Controllers Course - Saturday 17th March

    BOF Controller Grade C Controllers Course

    There will be a Grade C Controllers course on Saturday 17th March, at Silchester Village Hall.  This will be an all day course, including an outdoor practical exercise.  The course will be free.  To become a Grade C controller, you will need to have at least the following experience:-

    There will be a BOF accredited Event Safety workshop on 11 February 2012, at Harwell, starting 9:00am, ending by 13:00.  This is easily accessible from the A34, we also hope to be able to arrange transfer between the venue and Didcot station.

    As you may have read in the last newsletter, the Club Championships are to take place at the BADO event at Pamber Forest on 20th November 2011. We have now decided on the the scoring system, as detailed below.

  • SCOA Junior Squad Event - Wednesday 26th October

    On Wednesday 26th October, the South Central Junior Squad is organising an event, in conjunction with the Army Military League, to raise funds for future squad training events, many of which are some distance from home.
