LOCATION:- | Car parking is on forest rides. The entrance to the area is on the B3017 at Grid Reference SU901679&st=5&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf">SU901679 on Landranger 175. This entrance is close to the junction of the B3017 and the A332, so take care particularly if approaching from the North. If coming from the south along the A332 you have to turn onto the B3017 at the point where the A332 west of Bracknell takes a sharp right hand turn towards Ascot, and then immediately left into the forest. The route will be signed, but be aware!! There will be a £1 parking charge |
TERRAIN:- | The area is mixed woodland with some areas of rhodedendron and a good number of paths. |
FACILITIES:- | This will be a low key event, so we are offering no facilities apart from the orienteering! Please note in particular that there will be NO TOILETS. Please take necessary action beforehand!! (The nearest toilets are probably those at the LookOut GR SU876662.) |
COURSES:- | This is a 60 minutes Score Event using EMIT, and a punching start. We will have sufficient “simple” controls for younger/less experienced orienteers. Maps will be on waterproof paper or bagged. |
REGISTRATION:- | REGISTRATION FROM 9:45 to 10:45 CALL UP AT –5 MINUTES START AT 11:00 |
FEES:- | £5.00 Seniors and £2.00 Juniors. This includes reduction for BOF members. EMIT hire £1.00 if you do not have your own |
