PPS Scores for Event 3: CS Cup TVOC 19/02/12

Well, that was the CompassSport Cup that was, everyone, over for another year. We had 28 starters, scored almost as well as we could, but were well behind the major clubs with larger turnouts. At least we don’t have to traipse all the way to the Borders in September. Perhaps we should focus on 2014, when the CS Final will apparently be held in the SCOA region!

Well done to all those who performed really well on the day. The HOT Rod awards for this event go to:

For the first time, we have Cat A runners gaining the Gold and Silver Awards, so it looks like the revised scoring system is helping to create more balanced competition. Both Andrew and Janet had great runs to score so well at this high quality event. Robert Lattimore continues to improve quickly, as teenagers seem to do each year; I hope he keeps up this excellent progress. A special Mention in Despatches goes to those who topped the magic 100% mark: David Lattimore, Doug Greenwood, Andy Strakova and Kingsley Starling (almost!).

This event was also the first round of our Spring Performance Cup. With 28 starters, the top 14 finishers now go through to the semi-final next week at the SCOA Championships, hosted by SARUM. Those who qualified today have their PPS scores shown in italics.

Today we had our first mover from Starters to Improvers: Chris Speed had three previous qualifying RP runs, so has moved up. Stephen Beal and Andy Parry have now recorded three qualifying scores, so move up to Improvers from their next PSS event, and Simon Moore, who did not run today, has also moved into Improvers. Good luck to them all in the ‘Big League’!

I attach the PPS workbook showing today’s results in one sheet, and the overall Spring Season standings in a second sheet. I hope we see you all at the SCOA Championships at Hamptworth next Sunday.
