An alternative discipline in orienteering is Mountain Bike Orieteering (MTBO) which has the same idea of navigating at speed but, in this case, bicycles are used.  Denise Harper has shown hersef a very capable MTB orienteer and has travelled to Lithuania to complete in this year's World Masters Championships.  Unfortunately Friday's 'long distance' event was plagued with technical difficulties due to a failure with some of the timing equipment.  Yesterday though things had been sorted and Denise achieved an excellent bronze medal position in the W60 'middle distance' race.  Today in the 'sprint' race she nearly got onto the podium for a second time but was just pushed out into fourth place.  But overall an excellent peformance competing at the highest international level.
