at Rushall Woods

Rushall Woods is situated W of Junction 12 of the M4.  

Parking is along a quiet lane - Burnt Hill Road at RG7 6DX, SU567735, what three words trapdoor.having.mountains.

Due to narrow lanes please arrive from north via Yattendon Lane, then turning south onto Burnt Hill Road.

Please do NOT approach along Scratchface Lane

From field gate follow streamers through field 700 metres to Assembly  and then 400m to the Start.  Bagdrop at assembly , the Finish is 200m to Assembly. 

The Rushall Wood area is mixed commercial woodland interspersed with open areas and a few dwellings. The Westernmost area is runnable sloping woodland changing to slow run at the southern end. The central area is generally runnable with several re-entrants and open areas. The eastern area is flatter with several areas of recent tree felling which is still taking place at the very eastern extremity. Throughout the area are several significant expanses of undergrowth which are best avoided.

There is just one road crossing in the area - it is used by all the courses  - and so is an obligatory manned crossing point with 2 min 30 sec timeout allowance . In addition there is another manned crossing point between Finish and Assembly.
